Vacancy: Vacancy: Mixed Tax Manager

We're looking for a mixed tax manager to join our friendly team in our Stockport office. We are a long-established business with a modern outlook and we value our employees, offering progression and stability within an excellent and sociable working culture.

The Role

The Tax Manager will oversee a wide variety of portfolios for personal and corporate tax clients, advising on personal and corporate tax liabilities and opportunities as well as undertaking advisory work including R&D claims, IHT and CGT planning, Groups, Incorporation and exit planning. The role is varied and interesting and involves working with the Directors to provide high level technical advice, planning and advisory work.

What We’re Looking For

You will be comfortable in your relationships with other members of staff, liaising with Accounts teams to ensure a high standard of client service. You should have at least 10 years’ prior experience of working in practice including managerial experience, a good academic background and a willingness to develop your abilities with a forward thinking business.

Due to the nature of the role, excellent team working skills are imperative together with strong communication skills. You will be responsible for managing a team of five, ensuring team deadlines are met and reviewing work. We take pride in our company culture of staff development and investment, and the availability of managers to train and supervise junior members of staff is paramount to this.

Vacancy: Accounts & Audit Semi Senior (3 vacancies)

Location: Stockport

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time – 38 Hours per week (8:30 – 5:15 Mon – Thu, 8:30 – 4:30 Fri)

We are currently looking for Accounts & Audit Semi-seniors capable of completing assignments from start to finish with minimal supervision.

Person Specification:

You will either be AAT qualified or qualified by experience, with minimum three years’ proven practice experience within a small to medium sized practice, and be IT proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Sage, Xero and Quickbooks.

You will be experienced in the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies and will have a basic knowledge of tax compliance issues. Experience of Audit work, preparation of cashflow forecasts, business plans, and the preparation of management accounts would also be an advantage.

We are looking for candidates with excellent interpersonal, planning and organisational skills and the ability to impress and work well with our clients. You will be a team player with a passion for your profession. Full clean driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing management accounts and year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Liaising with clients generally to resolve queries
  • Ensuring all assignments are completed within the allocated budget and to deadlines
  • Drafting Corporation Tax computations and liaising with our tax department
